A Prayer for Jubilate

Lord Jesus,

You describe the painful journey of Your suffering and cross with these words: “A little while, and you shall not see Me; and again, a little while, you shall see Me, for I am going to the Father.” We ask You from our hearts: Grant that we would consider our cross, distress, and concerns which befall and burden us in our misery as a small thing, believing that, compared to eternal joy, it is only to be regarded for a moment in which we stand forsaken, wherein we are again comforted and preserved by You with great mercy. We thank You that, by Your bitter suffering, You have obtained and prepared for us the journey, ascent, and path to the Father and eternal life. And when the blessed little hour of our journey home is at hand, so grant, Lord Jesus, that with steadfast hope and heartfelt desire, we may bear a longing for You and Your Word and enjoy His gracious sight in eternity. Amen.
