Another Prayer For Oculi

Lord Jesus Christ,

at all times, the world has rebelled against Your blessing and revealed Word by its ingratitude, blasphemy, and security, and has cursed Your name. Against this, we miserable ones confess with Your true Church that You have driven away dreadful and devilish errors, hordes, sects, and enthusiasts through the gracious preaching of Your holy Gospel in these and other lands, churches, and schools, through the finger of God, and You have also thereby proclaimed and consecrated God’s eternal kingdom therein. Your strength and might against the devil and his tools, like the strong armed man who has occupied and guarded his palace well, demonstrate that You have not merely overtaken him but have also gallantly divided his armor and spoils. Grant that we would not be against You, but would rather be and remain Yours, that we would gather with You, and not scatter.
